Lu Sipi
Lu sipi is a traditional Tongan dish which is a favorite made of lamb and onions wrapped in taro leaves and baked with coconut milk.

  • 1-2 large Taro Leaves per lu
  • 6-12 bite sized Lamb per lu
  • 1 large Onion cut into pieces
  • Coconut Milk
  • 2 pieces Aluminum Foil per lu

Instructions
  1. Cut meat into bite size pieces. Measure other ingredients accordingly.
  2. Cut out a piece of foil for each lu sipi. Lay several lu leaves(taro leaves on the aluminum foil overlapping the leaves on top of each other.
  3. Spread out several pieces of sipi(lamb) on top of the lu leaves.
  4. Put onion pieces into the lu sipi. Pour coconut milk as desired.
  5. Gather lu leaves around, and fold the foil close.
  6. Bake on cookie sheet at 350 degrees for 1 hour or until cooked.
